High School Senior Summit
Our high school senior summit is an annual family equipping event that takes place before high school graduation. Parents, pastors, and student leaders share a meal together. Students will be charged by our student ministry staff as they close this chapter of life and embark on the next.
The focal point of the Senior Summit is a time for parents to read their pre-written blessing over them. We provide resources for families to lead in this time as they prepare for the following Sunday’s high school graduate recognition.
High School Graduate Recognition
This family milestone takes place on Sunday morning. During this service, along with the recognition prior, we thank God for our high school graduates and recognize them at the beginning of our worship service, with a time of prayer and public blessing.

Love Where We Live on October 31
We encourage members of FBCOP to love where we live on October 31 by intentionally and strategically using the day to meet neighbors, serve them, and either begin or grow relationships. People matter and this day provides an opportunity to show love to neighbor and to begin or continue gospel conversations with them. So, there is no event on the church property this evening, but there will be many events with the church as our family members are “being the church” where they live.
HOW TO LOVE WHERE WE LIVE ON OCTOBER 31…
Pray for those in your neighborhood. Pray for new relationships and for existing ones to grow.
Be intentional. Be real. Be the neighbor others want.
Don’t let Halloween be the only time you engage with your neighbors intentionally. Be prepared to have gospel conversations.
PLEASE DON’T…
Turn off your porch light as a protest to the holiday.
Hand out Bible tracts instead of candy.
Hand out candy alternatives (toothbrush, fruit, healthy snacks.) Let parents determine.
Scare children or prank people as they come to your house.
SOME IDEAS…
Provide bottled water, soft drinks, or hot chocolate to parents.
If you live on cul-de-sac, work with your neighbors to provide a group event.
Create a photo booth. Don’t take pics on your phone, but provide a “selfie booth.”
Carpool with neighbors to places that are providing large events.
Give out glowsticks or glow-in-the dark necklaces in addition to candy.
Give out the good candy. Ask a kid.
AFTERWARD…
HELP CLEAN UP - You may have that neighbor who goes all out with decorations. Offer to help with the clean up or taking down of the items.
BE A FRIEND - You may meet neighbors you have lived near for a while. Learn their names and seek ways to serve them. Love your neighbors, but not as a project. Live out your faith.

Safeguards 4 Kids with Julie Lowe
1 in 3 girls and 1 in 7 boys will be sexually abused before the age of 18. What can Christians do to change these disturbing facts?
Julie Lowe argues that Christians must lead the way in prevention and response measures to keep kids safe and to respond with the hope of the gospel. Julie is a licensed professional counselor who brings over twenty years of counseling experience to help equip parents to become aware of this issue, and equip their children to recognize, respond, and report immoral behavior from an adult.
Safeguards 4 Kids will help parents and caregivers to have wisdom and discernment in parenting, and will teach them how to have age-appropriate conversations with their kids about abuse and threats. In addition to Julie’s presentation, we will also have mini-talks addressing human trafficking and internet safety for kids.
Join us, so that you can safeguard your kids and equip them with the wisdom necessary to navigate a fallen world.
Lunch included! Opportunities to win raffle prizes including multiple $500 SeaWorld gift cards! Free resources!

Better Together Training
Training for families volunteering with Better Together with their Better Families program.
Better Families is aimed at preventing neglect and abuse before foster care is necessary. Our unique model enables parents who have fallen on hard times to voluntarily place their children with a loving host family for up to a year. The average stay is only 45 days, and 90% of families are reunited in 90 days or less. As unpaid volunteers, host families focus on caring for the children, while a network of Better Together volunteers and partners help the parents get back on their feet. By design, 100% of the families are reunified, and we’re pleased to report that 98% of them stay together and out of the foster care system.
